Ettore DiRado Obituary

Ettore DiRado, 77, entered the Lord’s garden on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. He was predeceased by his parents, Aquilino and Antonietta DiRado; father and mother-in-law, Vincenzo and Assuntina DiRosa; brothers, Samuele and Armando DiRado; sister-in-laws, Maria DiRado, Maria DiRosa; niece, Giovina DeNardis. He is survived by his devoted, loving wife of 54 years, Antonietta (DiRosa) DiRado; his children, Sandra and Michael Edwards; Anthony and Lisa DiRado; his grandchildren who he loved and adored, Anya, Adon, Ettore, and Nicolas; two brothers, Francesco (Michelina) DiRado, Camillo (Malfisa) DiRado; a sister, Maria (Roberto) D’Amore; a sister-in-law, MaryAnn DiRado and in-laws, Giulia (Umberto) Stenta, Lorenzo DiRosa, Antonio (Lucia) DiRosa, Sister Maria DiRosa, Nicoletta (Camillo) Michitti, Rocco (Barbara) DiRosa, Liliana (Lino) Stenta; aunts, nieces, nephews and friends both here in the US and in Italy.
Ettore traveled to the US, by ship when he was18 years old, for a better life. He married his love, Antonietta in 1964. He worked for New York State DOT. He was a man of faith and belonged to Saint Mary of the Assumption Church. He was also a member of the Men's Abruzzese Club and the Fort Lauderdale Oaks Men and Women's Club. He loved his Italian heritage and traditions. He was an avid gardener who would spend hours in his garden, listening to his Italian music.  He especially loved having his family over for Sunday dinner. His smile was contagious but his quiet demeanor was an indication of how humble he was to all. He enjoyed his family time, and spending his winters in sunny Florida. He was a quiet, modest man, a compassionate friend, a devoted husband, a loving and caring father and a proud Nonno. His sacrifices, dedication, and compassion will act as a guide to us all. May you enter heaven’s gate and be a gardener of the most beautiful garden of all! Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 9:30 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
