John A Merrill Jr.

John A. Merrill Jr. 53, of Binghamton, passed away surrounded by his family in his home after a long courageous battle with cancer. He is predeceased by his mother Betty Ann Merrill and his beloved dog Spencer. He is survived by his loving wife Amy-Lynn M. Merrill; children Sienna, and Sarah who he loved with all of his heart: father John Merrill Sr. (Sandy); sister Betty Jo VanMeerhaeghe (Phillip); mother and father in law Jim and Betty Ann Zimmer; brother in law Jeremy Zimmer (Karen); as well as several nieces and nephews.  John graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. He loved his Jeep, watching paranormal shows and visiting Cape May, NJ.  He repaired electronics and I Phones, so nobody would have to tell their parents they broke theirs. If anyone ever asked, can you fix this? He would reply, I worked on 18 million dollar airplanes, yes I can fix it. Visitation will be held on Monday at the THOMAS J. SHEA Funeral Home Inc. 137 Robinson St. Binghamton, NY 13904 from 4 until 6pm. A Memorial Service will follow at 6pm. Memorial Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in John’s Memory.
