Michael Lawrence

Michael “The King” Lawrence (76) left us on October 3, 2017. He was predeceased by his parents Fredrick and Charlotte Lawrence, and his brother Marshall Lawrence. He is survived by his loving wife, Jacalyn Kenefick; children Michelle Amore(Steve), Robert Lawrence(Anne), Edwin Lawrence(Nancy), Gary Bullock-Lawrence(Cynthia), Emily Grice and Britney Lawrence(Jose); grandchildren Melissa, Alexandra, Kimberly, Russell, Kaylena, Samuel, Anika and Na’Shawn; sisters Charlotte Nichols(George), Loretta Trevarthan, Bette Bado(William), Emelie Lawrence and Linda Miller; several nieces and nephews. He worked the family farm in Conklin for many years earning the nickname “The King of Corn.” He was also an accomplished Holstein breeder. Mike enjoyed hunting but mostly the companionship of fellow hunters at the MSM Lodge where they gathered weekends to have a few beers and tell tall tales. “The thing of it is” this time and fellowship meant the world to him. He always had a hammer and chainsaw to help out family and friends with building projects. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3pm on Sunday October 8, 2017 at the THOMAS J. SHEA Funeral Home Inc. 137 Robinson St. Binghamton, NY 13904. A Memorial Service will follow at 3pm with Mother Elizabeth Ewing officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
