Thomas Hertzog

Breaking free from the grips of cancer Thomas was called to the House of God at the age of 64. He passed peacefully at his home on September 10, 2107.with his wife and family at his side, There he will rejoin with his father Thomas Hertzog and Mother in Law Gladys Palmer both of whom predeceased him. He is survived by his loving wife, best friend, and soul mate of 43 years Faith, his children Jodi Stehli, Adam Hertzog, and Andrea Hertzog. His 5 grandchildren whom he adored, Jack Stehli, Emma Stehli, Kailyn Lake, Anthony Lake and Mackenzie Lake. He is also survived by his mother Gemma Hertzog, his brother and sister in law Kurt and Kathy Hertzog and their 3 children Kevin, Kelly and Kenny Hertzog of Rochester NY, and his forever son in law David Stehli, many close friends  and his beloved pets Nova, Sassy and Bob. He was a dedicated family man,  an employee of The United Way of Broome County. He and his wife were proud owners Tommys Tavern in Binghamton.  He was the bass player for a local band in the 70’s named Dice; he enjoyed playing golf and shooting darts.  He also had a love for the game of football and baseball especially his lifetime favorite teams the NY Giants and The NY Yankees.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them all his funniest jokes and making memories. He was a great cook and his pizzas were famous among friends and family. He will be missed by all. The Family would like to thank Lourdes Hospice for their care and support. Calling hours will be Sunday September 17, 2017 from 11-1 at Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home Inc. 137 Robinson St Binghamton NY 13904.
