Robert C. “Red” Airwyke, 83 passed away peacefully on March 14, 2024. He is predeceased by his parents Francis and Ethel Airwyke; wife Betty Ann (Ely) Airwyke; brothers Thomas and Gary Airwyke. He is survived by his sister Barbara Strang; children Terri and Jay Tompkins, Steven and Stephanie Airwyke, Sherri Airwyke, Tina and Ashley Airwyke, Jolene and Jeremy Rose, Jamie and Duane Mattern; many many cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren that he loved and adored so much. As they as well adored and cherished him. Many nieces and nephews that he cherished as extended children of his own. He was known to all as Uncle Bob. He was an employee at Phillips Foundry For 40 years as Quality Control and Shipping Foreman. Our father loved playing men's Fastpitch Softball with co-workers for years in the mid 70s as League Champs and always had time after his time on the field to teach all of us the game he loved. Later becoming all of our biggest fan. The family would like to thank the Hospice Nurses; Betsy, Shannon, and Lauren for their care given to our dad.
A Funeral service will be held Friday March 22, 2024 from THOMAS J. SHEA FUNEAL HOME INC. 137 Robinson St Binghamton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1 pm until service time at 2. Burial will be in Chenango Valley Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will follow the burial at the West Windsor Fire Hall.
