Brenda Hunt

Brenda Rae (Newschwander) Hunt, 88, went to be with the Lord August 28th, 2017. She was predeceased by parents, Raymond and Elva Newschwander; brother, Ward; son, Steven and grandson, Jeremy Majka. Brenda is survived by husband and best friend of 67 years, Gilbert; sister, Andrea Moore; sisters-in-law, Marie Newschwander, Beverly Wilmot; loving children, Shelley (George) Dafoe, Janice Sakovitch, Jeffrey (Catherine) Hunt; grandsons, Jonathan Majka, Brian, Nathan, Erik Sakovitch; great grandsons, Kendall, Asher; numerous nieces/nephews. Brenda had several jobs while raising her children and retired from NYS Tax office. Brenda was a gifted soprano and shared her gift as a lifelong choir/church member at East Side Congregational UCC and senior center choirs. Brenda and her adoring husband spent a long retirement together travelling, dining out and camping. Brenda enjoyed leisure time by knitting, solving puzzles and collecting elephants. Brenda’s wry wit and humor will be missed by many. Deep gratitude is extended to the skilled nursing staff at Good Shepherd Fairview Home. A  Memorial Service will be held September 24th, 12 PM at East Side Cong. UCC, 284 Robinson Street, Binghamton. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to East Side Cong. UCC "UCC hurricane disaster response”.
