Carolann Shiffner

Carolann Shiffner, 76, surrounded by the love of her family left this world, on Sunday October 28, 2018. Although the accomplishments in her lifetime are too numerous to list. She, above all else was a wife, mother, grandmother, & great grandmother. A loving devoted wife to Charles Shiffner for over 50 years. She was the best mom to Carol-Jeane Shiffner & Cricket Shiffner; grandmother to Kamara, Keteri, and Caleb. She was a great grandmother to Maverick, Sydon, and Malakhy Martin. She was predeceased by her sisters Joan, & Grace along with her twin brother Marty. Born in New York City Dec 15, 1941, she graduated from Holy Cross, she was one strong Irish Catholic girl, she was a twin, she spent 8 years as a cloistered Dominican nun working as a nurse with incurable cancer patients in Hawthorne NY. She played guitar & accordion, she wrote songs, she was an artist, a seamstress, a careful gardener, her creativity knew no bounds, she was an immaculate housekeeper, a partner to our father not only in life but in business as well, she was a friend to all she met. Our home and our childhoods were filled with songs & stories passed down for generations, her antics, jokes & laughter kept our home alive & so full of love...we are going to miss you our blue eyed Irish gal. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 until 7pm at the THOMAS J. SHEA Funeral Home Inc. 137 Robinson St. Binghamton, NY 13904. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 9:30am on Friday at St. Paul’s Church in Binghamton, NY. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. A Celebration of life will be at Lost Dog Café at 1pm.
