Francis M. Fitzgerald

Francis Michael Fitzgerald, 75, of Newark Valley, NY passed away July 11, 2018 at Wilson Memorial Hospital.  He was predeceased by his parents William & Ann (Cooper)Fitzgerald1; brother William and his sister Shirley and her husband James Crowley; his nephews Scott Fitzgerald, John Lynch and William Adams; nieces Mary Beth Adams and Sandra (Adams) Shuee.  His In-Laws Thomas Benton & (Mary) Margaret (Kelly) Adams; brothers-in-law Thomas Benton & Wife Jayne (McLean) Adams, Robert Adams, Joseph Adams & William Adams; sisters-in-law Margaret (Adams) & husband Daniel Smith, Betty (Adams) & husband Thomas Lynch, and Rita (Adams) Phillips.  He is survived by his wife of 51 years and best friend for 58 years, Patricia (Adams) Fitzgerald; his sons Sean Fitzgerald, Kevin & Tanya (Odd) Fitzgerald, & their children the lights of his life Matthew & Lillian "Lilly" Fitzgerald; his daughter Kelly Ann Fitzgerald; brothers Robert & wife Donna (Cary) Fitzgerald, John "Jack" & Wife Cathy (Reardon) Fitzgerald; sisters-in-law Judith (Lord) Adams & Nancy (Mann) Adams; many nieces, nephews, cousins & many, many friends.  Fran graduated from ST. Paul's School in Binghamton and attended summer session at Perdue University in Lafayette, Indiana.  He retired from the Plumbers & Pipefitter Local 112 where he taught classes for the apprenticeship program.  He was past Vice President of Local 112.  He owned and operated Fitzgerald Plumbing & Heating, Inc. along with being the Plumbing Inspector for Johnson City NY before retiring.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 4pm until 7pm at the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 137 Robinson St., Binghamton.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
