Gary Furner Obituary

Gary “G-Dawg” Furner 68, of Binghamton, passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer with his wife Cathi and dog Liberty by his side. He is predeceased by his parents Walter and Bette Furner; mother in-law Jean Hoag. He is survived by his wife and best friend Catherine Furner; children Gary (Jessie), Lisa (Andy) Edwards, Eric (Linda), Daniel (Laura), Christopher (Alley), 13 grandchildren; siblings Karen, Rick (Gail), Tom (Ann), Debbie (Jim), Maryanne (Rick), Michael (Annie); father in-law Ron and Judy Eastman; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Gary worked as the Center Manager at UPS for 29 years, owned Southbridge Wine and Spirits, and worked as a mail carrier. Visitation will be held on Friday January 25, 2019 from 4 until 7pm at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home Inc. 137 Robinson St. Binghamton, NY 13904. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Church on Saturday January 26, 2019 at 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Mercy House of the Southern Tier 212 N. McKinley Ave. Endicott, NY 13760 or the Build the Wall Fund, to secure our southern border.
