Joanne Dicman Obituary

Joanne M. Dicman (Barnes), 78, of Binghamton, NY passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Thursday, December 27, 2018 after an extended illness. She is predeceased by her husband, Steven Dicman and parents Harold & Alice Barnes. Joanne is survived by her daughters, Alicia (Dave) Lewis, Kelly (Pete) Neferis, Pam (David) Schlagter; grandchildren, Kimberly (Jason) Showers (great grandchildren, Sophia, Jaxon, Leland), Shannon Springett, Bradley, Zachary & Nicholas Neferis, Deven Schlagter & grand-pup, “Muffin”. Joanne retired from NYSEG after more than 25 years of service. She was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion, and board member of American Civic Association. A memorial service will be celebrated at 11am on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Parish of Saints John and Andrew, 1263 Vestal Ave, Binghamton, NY with burial to follow at Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal, NY. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, January 1, 2019 from 4-6pm at Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home Inc., 137 Robinson Street, Binghamton, NY 13904. The family wishes to thank the staff at Elizabeth Church Manor and Wilson Memorial Hospital NT4 (especially Kelsey, Sara, Donna and Bill) for their compassion and care. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
