Joseph V. Dadamio Obituary

Joseph V. Dadamio 87, of Binghamton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 14, 2018 and is reunited with his wife Jean of 54 years; also predeceased by parents Dominick and Jennie Dadamio; brother and sister in-law Angelo (Joyce) Dadamio; sister and brother in-law Jennie (Luciano) Vescio; sister Mary Dadamio; mother-in law and father-in law Paul and Anna Fiacco; brother in-law Sebastian Fiacco. He is survived by his children Joe (Judy) Dadamio, Theresa Allen, Susan Dadamio, Jim (Susan) Dadamio; grandchildren Mark (Melissa) Allen, Ryan DeVincentis, Nicole Dadamio (fiancée Judd Vanderpool), Vince (Anna) Dadamio, Nick Dadamio, Justine Dadamio; great-grandchildren Hailey and Rocco Dadamio, Oliver and Tatum Allen; brothers- in law and sisters in-law Vince and Dorothy Fiacco, Mary Fiacco; Frances Liparulo; Kathryn and Peter Basti; as well as many special nieces and nephews.  Joe was an Army veteran of the Korean war serving from 1952 – 1954 and a lifelong member of the American Legion. Joe was a skilled self-employed tradesman installing carpet and flooring for over 50 years. He enjoyed his daily walks at Otsiningo Park, and reading the Daily News during his visits to the Red Oak and Park Diners.   Joe was an avid sports fan always rooting for the NY Giants, NY Mets and LA Dodgers.  He was a faithful and devout Catholic, member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society and Saints John and Andrew Church. Joe had many lifelong friends and cherished their times together at the breakfast club and the Italian lunch bunch. Joe was proud of his Italian heritage which he shared with friends and family through his passion and love for cooking. Joe was a quiet, humble man who always put his family first and a gentle soul who made a lasting impression with everyone he met. Thank you to the staff of the Good Shepherd Communities for their love and care they gave to Joe over the years.  Visitation will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Saints John and Andrew Church from 3 until 6pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30am on Tuesday at Saints John and Andrew Church. Burial with full military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Saints John and Andrew’s Church Building fund in Joe’s memory.  Arrangements are with Albert J. DeMarco with the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home Inc.
