Margaret L Shephard

Margaret L. Shephard (Peg) of Binghamton, NY, died peacefully, with her family at her bedside, on November 10, 2018 at Elizabeth Church Manor. She is now in the loving arms of her Lord. Her family thanks the staff at Elizabeth Church Manor for their superlative care. Peg was predeceased by her parents Clinton and Elizabeth West; and her brother Peter West. She leaves behind her sons Gary Michael (Andrea), Scott (Jodi), and Steven; her grandchildren Stephanie, Cassidy, and Eli; her great-grandchildren Wilhelmina and Gwendolyn; her siblings Penny Lake (Ronald), Patricia Warren (Tom), and Paul West (Renee); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves behind her friends Louise Delorme, Ruth McCarthy, and Kathy McGreal. Peg was a therapy aide at the Binghamton Psychiatric Center and Broome Developmental Center for 43 years. She was able to form special bonds with the other employees and the patients with whom she worked. Peg had a wonderful sense of humor and a masterful sense of sarcasm - as anyone who ever made her angry will attest. She could be scary, and she could be kind. Visitation will be held on Thursday November 15, 2018  from 10:30am until 11am at Fairview United Methodist Church 254 Robinson St. Binghamton, NY 13904. A Memorial Service will follow  at 11:00 AM.
