Maria (Aurilio) Rossi

Maria Rossi, 81, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 13, 2018 at the James G. Johnston Nursing Home.  She was predeceased by her parents Secondino and Paola Aurilio; children Antonio Rossi and Paula Rossi Taylor.  She is survived by daughters Raffaela Rossi, Anna (Ken) Leonard, Rita (Chris) Kamp and son, Dino (Shannon) Rossi; 11 grandchildren, Donny, Tony, Chuck, Jennifer, Jason, Christopher, Danielle, Nicholas, Marissa, Ashley, Domenico and 5 great grandchildren, Lorena, Paula, Landon, Giuliana, Kaiden and several nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by her brother Augostino Aurlio and Anna Maria Aurilio, Bellona, Italy.  Maria made the trip from Italy to the US in 1966 to give her children a better life.  She worked many years as a seamstress in the textile industry.  She enjoyed cooking knitting, crocheting and loved playing Bingo.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  The family would like to thank the Hilltop Sun Unit staff and Unit 2 staff for their loving care. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 8:30am until 9:30am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Binghamton.  A Funeral Mass will follow at 9:30am.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association Central NY Chapter in her memory at 441 West Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, NY 13204.
