Philip A. Fiume Sr. 92, of Binghamton, passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side on Sunday, December 9, 2018. Philip was predeceased by his parents Vito and Raffaele Fiume, wife Nancy, daughter Rose Fiume, son-in-law James Bialek, and several beloved brothers and sisters-in-law. Philip is survived by his children Joseph Fiume, Rachel Rifenbury (Mark), Nancy Bialek, Philip Fiume (Kathie), John Fiume (Deandra); Grandchildren Mark, Laurie, Keith (Shannon), Brian (Tammy), Jarod, James, Jason (John), Rachel, Michael and Matthew; Great grandchildren Brenden, Bryce, Jessica, Nate, Aiden, Christia, and MacKenzie. Also surviving are sister-in-law Marie Dolan, brothers in-law John Shantillo, Anthony Shantillo, Salvatore Shantillo, and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will enjoy fond memories of Phil’s infectious humor, his strong character, his love for polka and dancing, and signature phrases including “it’s on the list,” and “call when you get home.” Philip served in the US Army in WWII. While Phil spent most of his life in Binghamton, he spent his last two years with his daughter Nancy in New Hartford. The family would like to thank dear friends in the New Hartford area for their loving care and friendship; Nathalie, Kathy K., Kathy L., Jackie, Chris, Maddy, Kara, and Kathryn – we’re forever grateful for the comfort and care you provided. Additionally, a very special thank you to Presbyterian Social Adult Daycare staff and bus drivers for taking wonderful care of our dad. He was so happy in your care.
A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 9:30 am at St Mary of The Assumption Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors. Friends may call at the THOMAS J.
