Roseann Snashall Obituary

On Sunday June 17, 2018, the Lord called home our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend Roseann Snashall as fulfillment of her faith in the power of his resurrection. Born to William Winton and Marie Cornell on April 25, 1931, Roseann lived a loving life that touched many in 87 years. Blessed with a bright mind and strong spirit, Roseann was truly a great mother to her eight children, a caring relative to her family and a loyal friend to many. Having grown up during the Great Depression and World War II era, she not only learned the importance of perseverance, hard work and believing in oneself to overcome adversity and challenges, she most importantly learned the importance of love. She is now reunited in heaven with her husband Robert Snashall. As a strong partner in marriage for over 47 years Roseann encouraged and supported Robert as he served his country in the US Army, including his Korean War deployment, numerous stateside assignments, and many years of being a West Point recruitment liaison. It is also with much comfort to her loved ones that Roseann being called home has allowed her to reunite and embrace her precious son Stevie once again. Having been called home himself by the Lord, within hours of birth, we have strong faith that the loss and pain that she endured for over sixty years, has now been healed with a love that both she and he can enjoy together for evermore. Roseann is predeceased by; her father, William Winton Cornell, mother, Marie Cornell, special cousin Mary Ann Thomas and many aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. Roseann's strong love will also live on in her many survivors that will give witness to the many blessings that God gave her. Most notably, all her children, of which she loved each individually, unconditionally and without end. Including, Robert R Snashall III (wife Michelle Lanoir), Kevin Snashall (wife Brenda), Pamela Snashall (husband Carl Reitenbach), Karen McElwee (husband Charles), James Snashall, Thomas Snashall (wife Tracy) and Mark Snashall. Roseann's love will also live on for generations as her love for her many grandchildren survives in each of their hearts and in their many memories; Marielle (husband Craig), Rosette, Jessica, Joshua, Julia, Carl, Allison, Erin, Molly, Abby and Trace. Also survived by her loving sister Denise Hutchings (husband Gary) and caring brother Winton Cornell (wife Claire), dear nieces and nephews Jennifer ( husband Bob), Carolyn, Gary, Colin, Nathan, Ryan  and Colin;  cousin Charles Lusk and Peggy Martin. The family would like to thank Roseann's "family of neighbors"  for all their love and support. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 9:30am until 10:30am at the Church of Saints John and Andrew in Binghamton.  A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30am.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Food Bank of the Southern Tier 388 Upper Oakwood Ave., Elmira, NY 14903 or Catholic Charities of Broome County, 232 Main Street, Binghamton, NY 13905.
