Thomas J. Holmes Sr Obituary

Thomas J. Holmes Sr. 83, of Binghamton passed away October 31, 2018 at Susquehanna Nursing home, now free of the scourge of Dementia. He was predeceased by is son Kevin; parents James Sr. and Beatrice; brother James Jr. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years Margaret; sons Thomas Jr., Timothy (Valerie), Daniel (Noelle); daughter Kathleen (Daniel) Clark. Also survived by grandchildren Justin, Maggie Rose, Ian, Mitchell, Gabriella, Ryan, Cooper, Emily (Chase Brett) Holmes; and Cole Clark; great-grandchildren Fibonacci Emery Holmes and Sylvie Maple Brett; brother Edward and sister Patricia Brigiotta;. Tom was a golden gloves boxer, well known as a jogger around Binghamton and basketball referee. He worked at Link Aviation, BCC, and retired from IBM Endicott. He was a member of St. Paul’s Church and was a former Eucharistic minister. We would like to thank the staff on 2 and 4 at Susquehanna Nursing Home for their compassionate care of Tom. Visitation will be held on Sunday November 4, 2018 from 1 until 3pm at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home Inc. 137 Robinson St. Binghamton, NY 13904. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday at 10am at St. Paul’s Church in Binghamton, NY. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a local animal shelter.
