Adelbert West

 Adelbert "Del" West passed away on January 31, 2021 at the age of 82 listening to his favorite songs with his children by his side.  Predeceased by his parents Milton and Ruth, his brothers Charles (Milt) West and George (Burt) West and sister Minerva Stalker. He is survived by his sisters Katherine Fetcinko, Ada Buffington, and Nellie McKee (Richard), brother Robert West, his children Mick West (Leigh), Michele Traverse (Paul), Jackie Evans (Bill), his grandchildren Todd, Morgan, Alicia, Amanda, Melissa, and Daniel; great grandchildren Brionna, Brayden, Corey and Colin and an abundance of nieces and nephews that loved their Uncle Del!  After high school, Del joined the army, spending time Japan.  Del began working for NYSEG in 1966 and stayed at “the company” until he retired in 1998. Aside from cheering on his favorite team, the Yankees, he loved golfing, walking on the beach, and the peace of sitting on his deck looking at the lake.
He never missed a party, BBQ, a game of pass the ace, a trip to get ice-cream or a chance to pick on his family & friends.  He loved his children and adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Saturday February 27, 2021 from 10am until 12noon at the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME INC. 137 Robinson St. Binghamton, NY 13904. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in Del’s memory.
