Alessandro D’Alessandro (Sandro) 94, of Binghamton, New York, passed away on March 19, 2026. He was surrounded by his loving family and passed peacefully into God’s hands. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Iginia (DeNinis), his son Fabrizio, his grandchildren Gianni and Enzo and their mother, Luciana.
Sandro was born on February 27, 1932 in Italy to the late Rocco and AnnaDomenica D’Alessandro. He was preceded in death by all his siblings and is now joyfully reunited with them.
Sandro and Iginia immigrated to the United States in 1969, with the hopes for a better life. He was a dedicated construction worker for all his career until he retired. Upon retirement, his prideful moments revolved around watching his grandchildren grow up into young men. You could always find Sandro admiring his garden, caring for every plant and observing them flourish; especially his special Fig Trees. If you did not see Sandro walking around the garden or sitting in the garage, you could most likely find him sitting in his recliner enjoying Western movies. The joy Sandro found in life’s simple pleasures will stay with us always. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Special thanks to the nursing staff of Lourdes/Guthrie Hospital First floor (1 Ross) for their heartfelt compassion towards Sandro and his family.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Mary’s Assumption Church in Binghamton on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 10:00 AM. The family will receive friends and family starting at 9:00 AM at the church. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
