Angelo A. Chapolo 86, of Binghamton, passed away surrounded by his family on May 4, 2021. He is predeceased by his wife Antoinette Chapolo; parents Angelo Capolupo and Genevieve Chapolo. He is survived by his daughter Annette (Danny Kildare) Chapolo; son Chris Chapolo; as well as many cousins.
Angelo graduated from Binghamton Central, played football, basketball and baseball. He was drafted by the Philadelphia A’s and played in their farm system until an injury ended his baseball career. Angelo went to Michigan State and played football. He served in the U.S Army from 1956-1958 and played on the base football team and he coached CYO basketball at St. Mary’s. Angelo worked shipping and receiving at Wilson Hospital for many years. He was known for walking, and could be seen all over town. He loved betting horses, trips to Saratoga and the casinos.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30am on Thursday May 13, 2021 at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Angelo’s name to Lourdes Hospice. Arrangements are with Albert J. DeMarco at the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME INC.
