Angelo Smeraglio, 85 of Binghamton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday March 26, 2018. He was predeceased by his wife Dawn (Spring) of 52 yrs. His daughter Michelle and his parents Mary (Calata) Carlo, McDade and Emilio Smeraglio; brother and sister-in-law Anita and Daniel Spring.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Deborah and Vincent Fricano, brother Peter Smeraglio, granddaughter Dionna DeMarco, great granddaughter Carly Wheeler and great grandson Nathaniel Smith. He is also survived by Nieces Colleen and Kelly Spring, Jenifer Decker, Lisa Tidey, Diane Lakkis, and nephew Michael Smeraglio.
Angelo was a Korean War Veteran serving his country with distinction and honor in the United States Marine Corp. Sgt. in the Fourth Battalion Platoon 492. He retired with 30 years of service from the United States Postal Service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed nature. He was a life long member of St. Paul’s Church and a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. At Angelo’s request there will be no calling hours. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
