Anita (Fendick) Haskell, 79 of Binghamton passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was one of 13 children of John and Mary (Albrechta) Fendick. She was reunited with her son Scott, along with her parents, sisters Margaret Fetcho, Dorothy Rittenburg, Frances Chier and brothers Robert, Edward, James, Leo and Alfred. She is survived by her husband Gary and four children; Laurie Gildea (Kevin), Robb, Gregg, and Christine Johnson (James). She’s also survived by her grandchildren; Jason, Corey (Chelsea), Brooke, and Emily, as well as great-grandchildren; Jackson and Jordan. Anita is also survived by her siblings; John (Maxine), Ted, Donna Snopek, and Richard; in-laws Ritt, Dorothy, Peanut, Dawn and Deb, and many special nieces, nephews and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, Gigi and aunt who most of all enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and playing the slot machines. Anita loved hosting holiday get-togethers that centered around Slovak traditions. She was a devout Catholic, belonging to Most Holy Rosary Church. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Lourdes Hospital, Broome Oncology and Dr. Joseph Readling. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 11:00 am at Most Holy Rosary Church, 2596 Main Street, Maine, NY. The family will receive friends at the church from 9 - 11am.
