Anna DeRosa, 90, of Binghamton, went home peacefully to the Lord on April 15th, 2025. She is predeceased by her parents Antonio & Mary DeRosa, brothers, Frank, George (Clara) and Salvatore (Ethel) DeRosa.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including David and Kathleen DeRosa.
Anna retired as a Financial Counselor and Student Employment Coordinator for SUNY Binghamton and remained close to her coworkers over the years, including John Benz, Jim Spring, Diane Ede and Diane Stento.
Anna will be forever remembered for her love of God, The Blessed Mother, her family and friends and her dedication to the Church. Anna had an amazing sense of humor; she could tell jokes like no other.
A special thanks to Pattie Wrighter who was one of Anna’s earthly “guardian angels” throughout her medical challenges, as well as her childhood friend, Rita Emilio and Mary Savelli whose love and friendship Anna so greatly cherished. Additionally, some of Anna’s fondest memories included visiting the Colavito’s on Sunday afternoons with her mother and brother while praying the Holy Rosary and enjoying her favorite Italian delicacies.
Anna loved the holy priesthood and supported many priests over the years with her fervent prayers and wise counsel. One special priest in particular is Rev. Amedeo Guida (Padre) who was a recipient of Anna’s love, support and friendship over the last 40 years; a precious gift that Anna dearly treasured.
There will be no visitations. Family and friends are invited to celebrate a Mass of Resurrection at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Court St., Binghamton, on Wednesday, April 23rd, at 10 a.m. followed by cemetery services at Calvary.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Raphael Ministry-PO Box 33, Liverpool, NY 13088 which is a ministry of healing and deliverance that Anna helped organize with Fr. Guida in 2005.
