Antoinette DeRigo Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Antoinette R. DeRigo, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the Binghamton community. Antoinette was born on September 10, 1925 to the late Ralph & Mary (Scalone) Grasso, and peacefully departed this world on August 24, 2024, at the age of 98. She was predeceased by her spouse Alphonso T. DeRigo, brothers Daniel and John Grasso.

Antoinette was the proud matriarch of a wonderful family, and is survived by her four dedicated children, who will forever feel the warmth of her love and the wisdom of her guidance: Marie Plimpton (Ft. Wayne IN), John DeRigo (Stuart FL), Ralph DeRigo and Chris Rollo (Paul). She was a beloved grandmother to nine adoring grandchildren, who brought joy and sparkle to her life. Antoinette was known for her unwavering strength, and an extraordinary ability to nurture those around her.

Though her life on this earth has come to an end, the legacy of kindness and compassion that she instilled in her family and all who knew her will continue to flourish. She had a passion for cooking, often filling her home with the aroma of her delicious Italian meals that would bring everyone together around the dinner table. Her warmth created countless cherished memories that will be held close to the hearts of all who loved her.

A devoted member of Saints John & Andrew Church, Antoinette's faith played a pivotal role in her life, providing strength and comfort to her and those around her. She was an active volunteer in her community and enjoyed sharing stories, and contributing to the nourishing spirit of togetherness that she so dearly valued. Antoinette's resilience continued to inspire many even in her later years.

Antoinette DeRigo, now resting peacefully, will forever remain in our hearts and memories. She leaves behind a legacy that will surely endure, one of love, laughter, and an unyielding bond to family and friends. May she rest in eternal peace, enveloped in the love she so freely shared in this world.
