Barbara (LaMantia) Lindenmuth, (68), passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 19th, 2024 with her three sons and her boyfriend with her to help guide her soul safely to heaven, reuniting with her mother and father.
Barbara leaves behind her three cherished sons Brian, Matthew and Mark (Rebecca), her six beloved siblings Sally, Rosie (Joe), Tony, Sal, Tom (Sherry) & John (Amy), as well as her loving boyfriend Mark. She also leaves behind her extended family of kind and caring nieces and nephews including; Joseph, Keith, Neil, Scott, Kelly, Chris, Kevin, Ryan, Katie, Michael, Megan, Brittany, Rachael, Vince, Jack, Julie & Zach. Along with many dear friends and loved ones. Barbara is predeceased by her adoring mother and father, Mildred and Salvatore LaMantia.
Barb was a caring, nurturing and thoughtful woman and mother. Not only to those that she had known for decades, but to those whom she had known for seconds, and everyone in between. Always willing to go the extra mile to help someone through a difficult or turbulent time. Regularly checking in on her loved ones to make sure that their needs were met and that life was treating them in the same way in which Barb lovingly treated and cared for them. In her spare time, Barb enjoyed many beach vacations, singing and dancing with her friends, and humorously reciting some of her favorite lines or stories from The Andy Griffith Show and Seinfeld, among many others. Caring for and supporting her sons in whatever endeavors they might be embarking on came instinctively to Barb, and she would stop at nothing to ensure that they were taken care of, even in the final days of her life.
Barb was a teacher’s assistant for many years with the Binghamton City School District where she met dozens of lifelong friends and colleagues, while enriching the lives of hundreds of students over the years. Barb’s infectious laugh and smile were a staple at every family get-together, holiday gathering or party in which she attended. Her sustained positive outlook, determination and strength during times that appeared to be the most difficult are values that will continue to inspire the lives of the people that were fortunate enough to be blessed by her presence.
