Bernadine "Bernie" (Fitch) Pendlebury

Bernadine “Bernie” Pendlebury, 68, of Kirkwood, NY, passed away on Tuesday morning, January 14th surrounded by her family.

She was predeceased by her amazing father, James Fitch, and her brothers, Tom and Danny Fitch.  She is survived by her wonderful husband, Robert Pendlebury, daughter, Danielle Pendlebury, son Thomas Pendlebury, stepdaughter, Robyn Pendlebury, and her beloved critters – Sara-Cuda and Oliver (her cats) and Dakota (her German Shepherd).  She is also survived by many other family and friends. She graduated from Binghamton North High and retired from the Binghamton Psychiatric Center, where she worked as a Secure Care Therapy Aide and met her husband. This year, they would have celebrated 40 years of marriage.

Bernie loved Antique shopping and was also an avid walker – walking two miles a day on the back-country roads and wooded trails where she lived. She was also a huge animal lover and would donate to a number of animal organizations and loved supporting different causes that were important to her. Bernie was an AMAZING mom, wife, daughter, and friend. She was always the life of the party and had an incredible impact on all of those she knew. She found her ruby slippers, clicked her heels three times, and finally went home. “There’s no place like home.”

Calling hours will be held Sunday, January 26, 2020 from 12:00-2:00PM with a Memorial Service following at Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, located at 137 Robinson Street., Binghamton, NY 13904.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of the United States, the SPCA International, or the Wounded Warrior Project.
