Betty May Testani (83, but she’d never want you to know that) went to be with our Lord on January 31, 2018. She was surrounded by her family and loving husband of 66 years, Richard “Ritzi” Testani. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was predeceased by her parents Marie and Archie Newton; mother and father-in-law Mary and Arduino Testani, sisters and brothers-in-law Angie (Ed) Schlieder, Reno (Peggy) Testani, Paul Kochis, Frank DiStefano. She leaves behind her first and only love, Ritzi, who turned 87 on Monday; her children Rick (Chrystal), Sherry (Terry), Mark (AnnMarie); loving son-in-law Philip Campon and former daughter-in-law Teresa Massie; grandchildren Carly, Michael, Joseph, Brett, Cory, Justin, Tyler; two beautiful great-granddaughters; brother Richard (Karen) Kamsoke; brothers and sisters-in-law Frances Kochis, Nick (JoAnn) Testani, Chick (Margie) Testani, Anna Marie DiStefano, Arthur (Jo) Testani, Barbara (Tony) Fiala; and many adoring nieces and nephews. After being crowned Miss Endicott-Johnson in 1954, Betty and Ritzi and their three children moved to Seminole, Florida where she made her mark in Tupperware sales. 24 years and many Tupperware-sponsored vacations and prizes later, they moved back to Binghamton to be closer to the ever-growing Testani (of Pine Street) family. She loved working for the Broome County courts until her health prohibited her. Friends and family will always remember Betty not only for her blonde hair and baubles but her kind words, warm embrace and absolutely unfailing devotion to her husband and kids. Friends will be received at St. Mary of the Assumption Church at 8:30 am on Monday, February 5, 2018. A Funeral Mass will follow at 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Her family would like to thank Lourdes Hospital, Lourdes Hospice and Emily Gabello for their care and compassion.
