Betty passed away peacefully Thursday, August 24th, 2023. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Eugene, Sr. and Martha (Cook) Waffle; her four brothers, Dewitt, Eugene, Jr., George and Carl; two sisters, Ina (Jack) Trevarthan and Margaret (Peggy); and two nieces, Laurie and Kathy; and sisters-in-law, Isabella and Rita. Betty is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Miranda Waffle, and grandchildren, Connor, McKenna and Kelsey Waffle; several loving nieces, nephews and cousins; and many dear friends.
Betty was a retiree of the Binghamton City School District and Broome County Department of Social Services. A devoted hockey fan and fixture at the Broome County Arena, Betty was a past president and lifetime member of the Booster Clubs that have supported all Binghamton hockey teams. The family will receive friends at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc. 137 Robinson St., Binghamton, on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon; with a funeral service to follow at Noon. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery following the service.
