Beverly Smales

Beverly A. Smales 82, of Binghamton, NY entered into eternal rest on January 26, 2021. Born in Binghamton, NY, she was the daughter of the late Leona E. Smales and William A. Smales.
She is survived by her sister Shelva Tyler (Smales), brother-in-law Robert Tyler, Nephew Glenn Tyler, Nephew Brian Tyler and Brian’s wife Amy Tyler (Duncan) and daughter Aubriana Tyler.
Beverly followed a career path in her life which involved leaving Binghamton in 1964 to take a position with Ansco (GAF) in New York City. She remained in NYC and with GAF for 17 years performing several functions. In 1983 she accepted a position with Van Zon Corporation for 7 years as a Sr. Buyer. Then on to Alpha Metals, Inc. in Jersey City, NJ as a corporate buyer and in 1987 accepted a position with Alpha Metals, Inc in Alpharetta, GA, as a Purchasing and Requirements Planning Manager setting up a Purchasing Department in a new chemical plant. In 2000 she accepted a position with Scientific Games International in Alpharetta, GA, as a senior Buyer. 
In 2004, Beverly retired and found her way back to Binghamton, most recently residing in Chenango Bridge.
Beverly graduated from BNHS in Binghamton, NY and spent her business career in continuing education covering all purchasing related disciplines. She was a graduate of the World Trade Center with a degree in International Trade. Some of her educational pursuits include ISO 9000, TQM Effective Negotiations, and Interaction Management. She was a member of the National Association of Purchasing Management, National Association of Female Executives, American Businesswomen’s Association and ISO 9000 Auditor User Network.
Due to Covid-19, Beverly will be laid to rest privately for her immediately family in Chenango Valley Cemetery.
