Charles Terwilliger Jr. walked into the arms of his Savior on September 19, 2024. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Joanne Terwilliger Sr., Robert and Emily Sweet and Sandra Gould. Charles is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years Sharon, his children Sandra Sullivan, Charles III, Kevin, and Amelia (Derek) Terwilliger, and his granddaughter Alexandria (Nicholas) Kotran. He is survived as well by his siblings: Patricia and Stephen Frederick, James and Rene Terwilliger and Pamela and Thomas Newberry. Sisters in law: Roberta DiFalco, Patricia Bennedum and brother-in-law Gary and Sue Sweet. Many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, friends and family of the heart.
Charles was raised and spent the majority of his life in Kirkwood, NY. Charles first attended St. Johns and then Susquehanna Valley HS. As an adult Charles graduated from SUNY Broome and then Marywood University with his Masters of Social Work. Charles retired from UHS- New Horizons after nineteen years of service. His greatest joy was to be able to help a whole community of people on their journey towards recovery. Charles was a long time lover of Harley Davidson motorcycles and member of the H.O.G Association. Charles continued riding long after his accident in ‘78. Charles also enjoyed hunting and camping with his family. His love of adventure included traveling and even a white water rafting trip through the Royal Gorge, CO.
The family would like to thank the Lourdes nurses and staff of: 1 Ross, Wound Care, Home Care, Palliative Care and Food Service for the wonderful love and care they gave, not only to Charles, but to his family as well.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 4pm to 6pm at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 137 Robinson St. Binghamton. A Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
