Charlotte Holdrege Obituary

Charlotte Holdrege, 72, of Binghamton NY, died unexpectedly at Wilson Hospital in Binghamton on Friday, February 17, 2023. She was a longtime resident of Truxton, NY and in more recent years at her home in Binghamton. She was born in Cortland, N.Y. on July 28, 1950 to Marion (Cook) and Lloyd Holdrege.

Charlotte was a 1968 graduate of Truxton Central School, received her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Cortland, and a master’s degree from Chapmin College. She worked as a medical laboratory technician at Binghamton General Hospital then Upstate Medical Hospital in Syracuse where she retired from. She was a life-long member of Truxton Methodist Church and NYS Grange. In her retirement Charlotte enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time with her family, and will be remembered as a kind and loving person.

She is survived by her two sisters, Janet H. Cole (Jeffrey), and Elaine Dec (Joseph) of Auburn and her brother-in-law Ned (Lois) James of Binghamton, along with nephews; Brian James of Binghamton, Greg James (Lauren) of Delaware, Bradley Cole of Auburn, and nieces; Stacy (Chris) Coleman of Auburn, and Kristen Cole Griffin (Patrick) of Albany, as well as great nephews Noah Coleman, Elijah Coleman, Ethan James, and great nieces Claire James, Elle James and Ava Coleman. She was predeceased by her parents Marion (1994) and Lloyd Holdrege (2020), a sister Lois James (2020), and a niece Michelle Cole (2014).

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, July 28, 2022 at 11am, with the interment at Truxton Rual Cemetery, where Charlotte will be buried with her parents.
