Colleen Jones Obituary

On April 8, 2022 the angels whispered it was time for Colleen (O’Neil) Jones, of Johnson City, New York to make her way to her forever home. After battling cancer courageously for years she is at peace.
Colleen known as “Bean” by most and “Nana” to her family has left a beautiful mark on this world. She will be missed sorely and remembered by all with love.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, Rita and Bernard O'Neil, and mother-in-law, Barbara Jones. She is survived by her loving husband Steve Jones; sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Kim Micha, Jamie and Kathy Micha, Corey and Trinity Micha; the loves of her life, her precious grandchildren, Molly, Lawson, and Beckett Micha; her sister Eileen and John Callahan and their children, Heather and James Wheeler, Michael and Arica, and Shannon Callahan; father-in-law Ken Jones; many brothers and sisters-in-law and their families; and her biggest supporters and friends Patricia Maraghy, Colleen Goeway, and Joan Ramirez.
Colleen’s compassion shined through in the form of her love for animals and children. While cleaning and tidying were passions of hers, nothing would stop her from making time for those she loved. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and had a special fondness for the bagpipes.
Knowing Colleen meant having a friend you can count on. She would speak often of her coworkers of Broome Developmental Center that became cherished friends. Even in care, she formed such special bonds. Many thanks to her hospice angels, Jill and Sarah, for their exceptional care and Deacon Mike for the spiritual support. Family meant everything to Colleen. They are the world to her and she has provided a lifetime worth of memories to carry them through.
Calling hours will be held at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc, 137 Robinson St. Binghamton on  Wednesday, April 13, 2022 from 4pm to 6PM. In Lieu of flowers those wishing, kindly consider donations to Mercy House of the Southern Tier 212 N. McKinley Ave, Endicott New York.
