It is with profound sadness that the family of Darlene LaBar announces her passing on 01/10/2024. Darlene LaBar was predeceased by her mother, Alberta Williams, her sister Michele Williams-Geist, her grandson, Sgt. Christopher Brown. She is survived by her husband Arthur LaBar, Daughters, Debbie Ferris Brown, Jodi Youngs, Son in law, Stephen Youngs, Stepdaughters, Lisa Martin, Keri McFadden, Sister, Dawna Cicak, Grandchildren, Karissa Salton, Karlee Youngs, Caiden Harris, Caylee Harris, and several extended grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and several cousins.
Darlene enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Darlene touched the lives of many with her compassion and empathy for others. She went above and beyond to help others with their necessities. Darlene was a dependable shoulder for many to lean on, a compassionate listener, and a wise advisor in times of need.
Calling hours will be held at Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc. (137 Robinson Street, Binghamton, NY 13904-1544) on Wednesday, 01/17/2024 at 11:00am - 12:00pm. The funeral service will occur directly after the calling hours, with a burial provided after the funeral service. The burial will take place at Chenango Valley cemetery (120 Nolan Rd, Binghamton, NY 13901).
The family extends heartfelt thanks to relatives, Brenda Czekala and Paul Czekala, and the Wilson hospital and Bridgewater staff for their support during this difficult time.
