David Mowry passed away peacefully at Mercy House on June 12th, 2023 in Endicott, NY at the age of 87.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; children, Tim, Tammy and Tonia; and nine grandchildren.
David was born on August 20th, 1935 in PA to Grover and Lydia Mowry. He grew up with his siblings Steven, Belva and Lester. He attended Owego Free Academy and helped out on the family farm. After graduating, he was drafted into the military for 2 years. He then married the love of his life and sunshine Sandra Wisdom on May 25th, 1963. David worked for NYSEG as an Equipment Operator for 33 years. He was also an active and devout member of the Conklin Presbyterian Church, coaching youth basketball and singing in the choir.
Those closest to him would recall how strong, yet gentle and kind he was. David cared deeply for his family and spent his years working and watching his kids and grandkids grow up. He loved spending time at the Lake.
The funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, June 20th at 10:00 AM at Conklin Presbyterian Church, with a reception to follow burial. Calling hours will be at Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc on Monday, June 19th from 5:00-7:00 PM. All are welcome to attend the funeral and/or hours to celebrate David’s life.
