Debra A. Lustig went peacefully to be in the arms of the Lord on December 27,, 2024 after a courageous 5 year fight with cancer. She was predeceased by her mother and father Roberta and Frank Pello. Also, by her first-born son and daughter Connor James and Heather Mary.
She is survived by her sister Maureen and brother-in-law Pat Natale. She is also survived by her husband of 38 years Patrick and her children Casey and Sean. Also survived by many loving cousins, nephews and nieces.
Known for her quick wit and spunky attitude and love of her Irish heritage and North Side roots. Her love for her Fighting Irish, NY Giants and Yankees. She was a proud employee of Kmart pharmacy and very proud employee of Binghamton City School District and 22 year member of the East Middle family where she was proud of the friendships she made throughout her time there and the students of the Inclusion class she guided along the way. She was also proud of being a second Mom to all that spent many a time hanging at “The Hill”. Spending time with those who needed the time whether that meant playing cards or chaperoning any shenanigans or any guidance or if just to listen. You would still get advice or a life lesson. You never left empty handed when it came to Deb.
There will be a Celebration of her Life in the spring when life is anew. In lieu of flowers please donate to the cancer society or St. Jude’s research hospital. When facing one of life’s many problems and can’t find a solution just think to yourself “what would Debi do”. The answer just may find you.
