Dolores H. (Nonnenmacher) Hauptfleisch

Dolores Helen (Nonnenmacher) Hauptfleisch, 76, of Kirkwood, NY, peacefully passed to her Lord on September 9, 2024.  She was born January 5, 1948 in Honesdale, PA. She is predeceased by her parents Julius and Mildred Nonnenmacher and brother James Nonnenmacher. 

She was the loving wife, life-long companion and dearest friend of Joseph, her husband of 55 years, and proud mother of daughters Tanya and Tamara and sons-in-law Brad and John. Dear to her heart and ever in her mind and conversations were her grandchildren Kenneth, Tobias, Madison, and Brooke.  She loved them to the depths of her being. 

Dolores had many interests that she pursued with intensity.  She worked nearly daily on family histories for both sides of the family and eagerly engaged online with family and friends near and far. She enjoyed the pleasures of the garden, both vegetables and flowers.  She learned how to flyfish for trout and took in the murmur of the stream and surrounding wildlife. Dolores was a very open person who could engage anyone in conversation and loved every minute of it. 

She will be remembered for her involvement with the Honesdale Catholic High School Class of 1965, active participation in parish life at a succession of parishes, and the large family gatherings she held in her home full of family, friends, and bounteous fine food and drink.

She will be truly missed by all who were touched by her genuine and gentle interest in them.

Services will be on Friday, September 13, 2024, as follows: Visitation 9:30-11 AM with Mass at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Kirkwood - 975 NY Rt. 11. Kirkwood, NY 13795 followed by internment at Vestal Hills – 3997 Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850. Following internment there will be a luncheon at St. Mary’s Church Hall.
