Donna M. Akulis
80 years old
09/05/1944 – 12/18/2024
It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Donna M. Akulis, 80,
of Windsor, NY; a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of God, who went to
be with the Lord on December 18, 2024, after a short illness.
Donna was preceded in death by her son, James; her parents, Russell and Elsie Kittle; her
mother and father-in-law, Anna and George Akulis; her sisters, Sandra Stone and Barbara
Kalaf; brothers, Robert Kittle and Jerry Kittle; and brother-in-law, George Akulis Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Charles, who never left her side, and
children: Angela (David) Vroblefski and Alan (Amanda) Akulis. She had 3 grandchildren: Aaron
Vroblefski, Jared (Katie) Vroblefski, and Sarah Akulis. She had 3 great-grandchildren: Dawson
Williams, Dillon Williams, and Vivian Vroblefski, whom she adored. Other relatives include her
brother, Phillip Kittle; sisters-in-law, Beverly Akulis, Tina (Larry) Groover; and brothers-in-law, Art
(Linda) Akulis and Thomas Akulis. Her love also extended to her many nieces and nephews.
Donna worked in the district office for Windsor Central Schools for many years, as well as
Robert J. Green Jr Roofing and Siding. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her close friends
and family; her kolachki cookies at Christmas time, her stuffed manicotti, and her cream cheese
pie will be missed by all who were lucky to enjoy them. For many years, Donna spent countless
weekends at the racetrack supporting Charlie and his incredible racing career. She enjoyed
playing pinochle, as well as loading up the RV to travel to the nearest bluegrass music festival.
Donna was always thinking of others before herself, and ready to lend a helping hand when
needed.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Bridgewater
