Donna Logan Obituary

Obituary for Donna Stilwell Logan
Donna (Stilwell) Logan, 81, peacefully entered Heaven, welcomed by her Savior, Jesus Christ, and her family: her mother Hilda, her brother Dennis, daughter Robin Seamon, granddaughter Lisa Tyler, grandson Dustin Seamon, cousin Linda, and aunt Joyce.

Born in Oneonta, NY, Donna grew up on a farm, embracing a life of dedication and perseverance. Each Sunday, she walked two miles to attend church, she was searching for peace and knew God. Donna’s journey took her from Oneonta to Conklin, NY, where she worked diligently for over 30 years as a clerk with the Delaware & Hudson Railroad and notably became the first female yard master. Donna later worked for and retired from Canadian Pacific.  Donna loved baseball, yes, both the Mets and Yankees, animals and plants, and people!
All these and more defined her life, but more than anything, she was generous. She often felt her help wasn’t enough, wishing she could do more. If someone needed assistance—whether it was tuition or a down payment—she would borrow what was needed, ensuring that the people she loved never went without. From Christmas to birthdays, she believed everyone deserved joy, and providing gifts was her love language.
Donna was quick to "adopt" anyone who crossed her threshold, treating them like family. She welcomed them to the holiday table, showing unwavering kindness.
Donna is survived by her sisters, Diana, Neatta, Gloria, Lucinda, Carol, and Gail. Her daughters Christina DeSimone and Valerie Mahoney (William Mahoney); and her sons Joseph Seamon (Victoria), James Seamon (Amanda), and Shane Logan.
Donna was blessed to have generations of grandchildren Jessica M. Tyler (Kyle Mullane), Donald Seamon, Gina M. Tyler (Matt Wetzel), Robert C. Tyler (Kim), Joshua Seamon, Emma Seamon, Adam Seamon and Nathan Seamon, and her great-grandchildren Brooklyn S. Seamon, Tyler L. Mullane, and Elizabeth R. Tyler. As well as the extended family and friends.

Shane, her youngest reflected, how does one sum up a life in mere words? It feels inadequate to capture the essence of Donna in a few paragraphs. But as I move forward, I will strive to honor her legacy by utilizing all she gave to help me get where I am today, ensuring her gifts are never taken for granted.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Crown Park Nursing Home in Cortland, NY, especially Tess and nurse Jan, who cared for her with compassion and affection. A private family memorial will be held in late November 2024.
