Susie graduated from Mercedes High School, Mercedes, Texas as Valedictorian Class of 1951. She was proud of her Texas roots and moved to the northeast after getting married. Susie spent many years at home with her children before working at the Broome County Office for Aging. She was an outstanding seamstress, expert crossword decoder, voracious reader and always enjoyed sharing a good joke. She enjoyed going to McDonald’s every morning, the group that tried to solve the world’s problems. She enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitching, reading books and watching many TV shows. She enjoyed traveling to Texas and tried to get to all 50 states (she almost made it). She made many trips with her daughter to visit many of the states and national parks and she loved the three times that she went to three different islands of Hawaii. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her immense joy. She was always at games or events if possible. She will be greatly missed, and her legacy will live on in her children and grandchildren.
A Service will be held Sunday 3 pm at Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, 137 Robinson Street, Binghamton, NY. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1pm to service time at 3.
