Edward V. Green, 75, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2022 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease, in his wife’s arms as he had wanted. He is predeceased by his father and best friend Robert J. Green, Sr.; mother Josephine and four siblings. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Terry (Teresa) Cortese-Green; sister-in-law Jean; nephews Scott (Amy), Christopher (Jennifer), and Craig; and nieces Emily (Matt) and Island, as well as great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his Shea family cousins; his wife’s family, Corinne and Gene Purtell and the Colavito’s; his favorite “sister-in-law” Rose Papa and many wonderful friends and neighbors. In the 1970’s Edward started Edward V. Green Enterprises; which brought top name entertainment to the Broome County Arena and venues across the Northeastern United States. In 1980 Governor Hugh Carey named him the Director of Entertainment for the 1980 Winter Olympic Games in Lake Placid. This was a first for the Olympics, which ever since has provided top name performers to entertain the athletes during the Games. Edward will be remembered for his many acts of kindness and generosity, and his commitment to volunteering. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 10am until 11am at St. Patrick’s Church in Binghamton. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
