Edward Mullins Obituary

Edward V. Mullins, 88, passed away peacefully and is now reunited with our mom on August 14, 2025. 
He is predeceased by his wife Mary Mullins; parents James and Marie Mullins; father-in-law and mother-in-law Lawrence and Helen Gallagher; brothers James and Rosemary Mullins, Gerald and Carol Mullins; nephew and godson Michael Mullins; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Cecelia and Thomas Reardon. 
He is survived by his loving and devoted children Kathleen Spencer (Marty) ; Mary Mullins (Ian), Peggy (Jeff) Chapin, Thomas (Christine) Mullins; grandchildren Christopher (Sara) Spencer, Tyler (Aimee) Spencer, Meghan (Kyle) Deutsch, Michael (Mallory) Piccirilli, Gina (Gunnar) Barthe, Annamaria Piccirilli (Josh), Madison Burch, Ryan (Melayna) Burch, Sean, Mickey (Lauren), Jack Mullins; great grandchildren Conor, Peyton, Cameron, Bailey, Declan, soon to be Bennett Edward, Michael, Santino, Dakota, Gia, Orion, Jaxon, and Alannah; numerous nieces and nephews and lifelong friend Ed Segrue.  
A proud graduate of St. Paul’s School and a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Church.  Ed served in the United States Army, serving 2 years in Germany.  Employed by Columbia Gas/NYSEG for over 37 years. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels since 2006, founding member of the East Side Youth Association, coached Little League and Girls Softball.  He enjoyed reading, walking, crossword puzzles, watching the NY Yankees, Notre Dame Football, and known as the “Mayor of the Eastside”. 
A special thank you to his nephew Jim Mullins, niece Patty Simonis for their care and attention and neighbors Carol and Jim Lewis who were always checking on him. 
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 from 4pm to 7pm at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 137 Robinson St. Binghamton.  A Funeral Mass will be at 10am on Wednesday at St. Paul’s Church in Binghamton.   Burial with Military Honors will be in Calvary Cemetery. 
Memorial contributions in Ed’s memory can be made to St. Paul’s Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels or Mercy House of the Southern Tier.
