After the Naval Reserves left the Binghamton area, he joined the Army National Guard to finish his 29 years of service.
Ed was a machinist at Universal Instruments in the early 70’s before going to work for NYS DOT where he retired from. He was pretty handy at most anything.
Ed spent his last year at the Veterans Home at Oxford. We would like to thank the staff there for their wonderfully compassionate care that he received.
Those who knew Ed, knew he was a big personality, a conversationalist and would lend a helping hand. The world was a better place with Ed in it and he will always be missed. As he would say “It is what it is” or “What’s the good word?”.
