Elizabeth Jane (Forster) LaMarca

On May 30, 2025, Elizabeth Jane (Forster) LaMarca of Binghamton, N.Y., passed away at the age of 93. Elizabeth (Betty) was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she will be missed deeply by her family and friends. 

Elizabeth was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on June 26, 1931. She lived most of her life in the steel city, retiring to Binghamton in her later years. Elizabeth graduated from both Carrick High School and St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing. She was married to her beloved husband James J. LaMarca for 64 years. Elizabeth was a marvelous homemaker, known for her excellent cooking and baking (Oh, those PIES!). She was a staunch Steelers fan, and her greatest love was playing cards. She loved card club and enjoyed many poker nights with the family. In later years, she honed her pinochle prowess and became the reigning winner against almost anyone who challenged her.

She is survived by her four children, Mary LaMarca, Ann Marie LaMarca-Major (Leslie), Kathleen Petruzzi (Mark), and Michael LaMarca (Shannon); her grandchildren  Nathan Major (Christine), Nicholas Major, Jacqueline Petruzzi (Ryan), Melissa Petruzzi, James LaMarca, Abigail LaMarca (John), Mitchel Markusic, Marissa Skye (Nick), and Angelo LaMarca; and her great-grandchildren, Lucas Major, Eleanor Major, and Jackson Mandock. Predeceased by her beloved husband, James LaMarca, and her son-in-law, Leslie Major.
