Frank Mauro (Unc), 98, went to be with the Lord on February 16th, 2023, after a short illness. Frank was predeceased by his wife, Cora, his parents Louise and Chauncey, brothers Albert (Caroline), Dominick (Betty) and Anthony; sisters Angelina (George), Palmina (Angelo), and Delina (Stephen). Frank was also predeceased by nephew Albert Jr. in-laws Cora and Henry Mihalovic, sister in laws Dorothy (Gary), Angie and Olga. Frank is survived by his sister-in-law, Angelina Mauro; many nieces and nephews; George, Roy and Mary Louise; James and Lewis; LuAnn, Mary, Frances and Frank; Peggy, Thomas, John, Philip and Albert; Vincent, Ann, Louise and Anthony; Gary, Nancy, John and Diane. Frank is also survived by many great and great, great nieces and nephews. Frank retired from General Electric. He and his wife Cora, enjoyed traveling around the world, sharing many stories of their adventures. Frank was a member of Saint Cyril and Methodius Church, and was a devout catholic, Frank prayed to the Blessed Mother daily. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Family was very important to him, and he was very proud of his Italian heritage. Frank was a World War II veteran serving with the 299th Combat Engineers.
Uncle Frank, you will be missed deeply by all. We will miss your great storytelling and unique sense of humor. You've been reunited with Aunt Cora, all those you love. Uncle, we love you, and you will be forever in our hearts.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at Saint Cyril and Methodius Church 148 Clinton St. Binghamton at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5 to 7 at the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME INC. 137 Robinson St. Binghamton. In lieu of flowers: family request that donations be made to Saint Cyril and Methodius Church, St. Jude’s Children Hospital, or a charity of your choice.
