Genesio DeNinis

Genesio DeNinis, our beloved father, nonno and friend went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 24, 2022 at the age of 88. He is finally reunited with his loving wife, Maria, who he truly missed everyday for the past 2 years. Genesio was born on August 15, 1934 in Vacri, Italy to the late Vincenzo and Marrietta DeNinis. He immigrated to America in 1964 and became a well-established tailor in the Binghamton area.  He leaves behind 2 daughters Marilena (Mike) Benko and Silvia (Gene) Bartlow; his grandchildren who he adored with all his heart Matthew, Mikaila, Mianna, Alexia, and Lucas; his sibling Eginia; his brother-in-laws Sandro and Berardino; his sister-in-laws Maria, Ginetta, Assunta; and many nieces and nephews.  Genesio is predeceased by his siblings Emillio, Grazietta, Eveilina, Giacomo, Lidia, and Frank; his father-in-law Daniele and mother-in-law Silvia; his brother-in-laws Guerino, Nello, Donato, Tulmine, Guerino and Carrodino; his sister-in-laws Adelina, Adina, and Linda. Genesio loved being around his family and took great joy when everybody was together, especially Sunday dinners. He looked forward to spending time at Tioga Downs, going to the gym every day, watching television shows, napping on his lounge chair or swing in the back yard, dancing whenever he got the chance, and vacationing at the beach with his family. Genesio took great pride in watching his grandchildren play whatever sport they loved and being their biggest fan. He will be dearly missed, but he is finally at peace alongside his wife, Maria.  We will miss you Abba/Nonno. Until we meet again.  Special thanks to Inna, Luba, Maryellen, and Cindy for the love and support you gave our dad.  A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 10am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Binghamton.  The family will receive friends from 9am until 9:45am at the church.  Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice in Genesio's memory.
