George E. Nichols, 92, of Conklin, passed away with his family by his side on May 27, 2022. He was predeceased by his father Leon, his mother Mildred, and his stepmother Marion. George is survived by his wife Charlotte, and his children; Adam (Rita) Nichols, Fred (Jackie) Nichols, Genie (Christopher) Johnston, Sandra (Jeffrey) Ace, and Cindy Chappel; 7 grandchildren- Eli, Josh, Zoe, Sam, Amanda, Daniel, Carleigh; and one great grandchild Jude. He is also survived by his siblings John, Barbara, and Eleanor, as well as many nieces and nephews. George was a veteran of the US Army, and avid softball player, hunter, traveler, farmer, and Yankee fan. George had a love of restoring old cars. He retired from J & K Plumbing and Heating as a sheet metal worker.
The family will receive friends at the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME INC. 137 Robinson St. Binghamton on Sunday from 1-3. A Memorial service will follow at 3pm. Internment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Mercy House of the Southern Tier.
