Jerry was an army veteran and retired from Broome County. He was an avid walker, voracious reader and skillful bowler as well as lifetime Notre Dame and Syracuse fan.
Jerry and Ellie enjoyed many winters in Florida, a trip to Ireland with their niece Kate, multiple trips to Texas and frequent trips to Tioga Downs.
He was the patriarch of the Donahue Irish Clan and was famous for his delicious spaghetti sauce. Jerry’s family treasured him for his humor, optimism and warmth. He held a special place in the heart of all who met him and will be missed by all.
The family is grateful for the wonderful home care provided by his daughters, Patty and MaryLinda.
He is at peace with our Lord and will be remembered with love always. The best way to honor his memory is to treat all with kindness and a smile.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Paul’s Church on Chenango Street on Saturday, November 22nd at 10 AM.
