Gloria J. Lucas Burford

Gloria J. Lucas Burford passed away on 6/26/24. She was a strong, intelligent woman who was fiercely independent and lived life to the fullest. She went to college and obtained her bachelor’s and masters degrees while raising her two young sons as a single mom. Gloria worked as a local Real Estate agent for many years and loved her job. She was a legend in her field and helped many families find the perfect home. Gloria loved to travel and loved the beach. She was predeceased by her parents, Merton and Winona Lucas (Kenyon), husband William B. Burford and nephew Stephen Lucas. She is survived by sons Derrick (Amy) and Darren, grandchildren Kristyn (Rob) Fairchild, Shelby, Rachael, Sydney and Jack Burford, and beloved great grandson Jameson. Brother Fred (Mary) Lucas, sister Cindy (Steve) Summer and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. She is also survived by her dogs Adele and Bella who were her faithful companions. Gloria was the life of the party and lit up the room with her humor and entertaining stories. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. A celebration of Gloria’s life will be planned at a later date.
