Harold (Hal) to most everyone and (Jerry) to his family was born July 15, 1952 in Binghamton, NY. Hal attended Windsor High School where he was a football star and a friend to many. He graduated in 1970. After high school he went on to Broome Technical Community College where he studied to be a Radiologic Technologist. He later went on to have a 35 plus years career at Lourdes Hospital, in Radiology. Hal made more friends than anyone could ever imagine, in his years at Lourdes. Hal was known around the hospital as a bit of a jokester and prankster. He told many jokes.  Anyone that knew Hal, knew his standard 10 jokes and laughed every time he told them, whether it was the first time or the 100th. His co-workers and friends considered them to be “Halism’s”. Hal also taught incoming students in his field, he guided them and taught them the profession he loved. Most importantly, Hal was a caregiver, his patients loved him and he cared for every one of them as if they were his own family.
Hal was a skilled golfer; he loved the game and the game loved him. He would often be the first one to the golf course in the morning and would play as much as 7 days a week in his prime. He was truly happy out on the local courses with his friends. He also enjoyed many vacations to golf courses all over the country. Hal was a fan of the NY Giants, and the NY Yankees often rooting on his team throughout each season. Hal was a lover of Animals, there wasn’t an animal out there he didn’t love. He had many animal companions in his life, including many beloved Dogs, Cats and Lizards.
Hal’s greatest love was his friends and family, he enjoyed parties with friends, family reunions, holidays, and time with his family at his beloved Farmhouse. Coming from a big family, Hal would spend much of his time with his Mother, Mort, Brother’s, nieces and nephews doing countless activities. He loved going to see his family in Franklin Forks, PA. Hal’s time with his daughter and grandson were his favorite. The memories were endless, whether, swimming in his pool, teaching his grandson how to golf, watching movies, summers up at the campground and just being together as a family. Being “Papa Harry” to Quinton was his most important role. Hal battled with his health issues for many years, but he always had a smile on his face and always kept his spirits high. He believed in Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior and would attend church often.
Hal lived his life with integrity and passion and loved every living creature. His sense of humor was intoxicating, and his memory will live on through all of us that knew him.
We would like to thank his special neighbor Paul, friends Dan Adams, and Kostic Logvis for all their support and help throughout the years.
