Harold W. Hayes

Harold W. Hayes “The Hook” 80, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2023. He is predeceased by his parents Edna and Leon Hays, brothers Richard, Ralph and sisters Judy and Betty. He is survived by his wife, MaryAnn of 55 years, two sons Jeff and Doug (Jessica) Hayes, grandchildren Travis and Angela, great granddaughters Remi, Eva & Ellie. They were the joy of his life, and he adored them. Brother, Bob and Ken (Sue) sisters Ruth, Linda and Sue. Many nieces and nephews and a special niece Cindy who did so much for him. Special friends Pete, Dave, Randy and Justin and many more good friends. He had a garage in Conklin for 50 years. He loved going to 5 Mile Point Speedway and Penn Cann racetracks and helping work on the cars. He was an avid NY Yankees and NY Giants fan. Special thanks to Hospice and Mercy House of the Southern Tier. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Kirkwood, N.Y. on Saturday at 11 am. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 am until Mass time at 11:00. Burial will be in Conklin Cemetery.
