Jackson Barnett Obituary

Lord gave me the gift of Love, which was Jack.  It saddens me to share that Jackson C. Barnett passed away unexpectedly on March 5, 2023 at Strong Memorial Hospital.

He is predeceased by his parents Richard and Marilynn Barnett; mother-in-law and father-in-law Leslie and Catherine Brewer; and many other loved family members.

He is survived by the love of his life Kathy; loving daughter Tiffany Marie Barnett; daughters Kimberly (Joey), Stacy, and sons Daniel (Meggan) and Scott; his brother Denny (Theresa) Barnett; brothers-in-law Robert (Jackie) Wilcox; Donald (Cindy) Wilcox, brother-in-law David Cummings; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Jack had many facets like a rare stone, he was bigger than life to me, he was my everything. Jack loved to help everyone; he was the most caring giving person I have ever known. He loved the railroad, music, dancing, his family and friends, books and puzzles, golfing, definitely the beach, and our special time.  He enjoyed being Santa Clause for CP Railroad, Elks and VFM for many years.  He loved the years of camping with Aunt Lorraine and Uncle Donny Brown.

A special note from his daughter:  Grief only lives where love lived first.  My father will live on in our memories and hearts forever.  Everyone deserves a father like mine, my guidance, my strength and my great vocabulary.  My fondest memories live in my heart and there are far too many to list, one that stands out is learning to swim in the ocean as he stood behind me when the waves came crashing in so I wouldn't slip and fall.  This is one big wave but we are standing strong.  I love you daddy.  See you later alligator.

Visitation for family and close friends will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 11am to 12Noon at the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 137 Robinson St. Binghamton NY.  A Celebration of Life will follow at American Legion Post 1645.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Golisano Childrens Hospital Miracle Network Rochester, NY in Jack's memory.
